Our Mission
Founded in 2020, Keep Our Republic is a non-partisan civic education organization committed to the vitality of America’s democracy by promoting trust in elections, the rule of law and constitutional checks and balances.
Our Pledge
At the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, Ben Franklin was asked by a passersby about what kind of political system we would have and he reportedly replied: “A Republic, if you can keep it.”
We pledge to keep it.
Quotes from Our Colleagues
“Americans must do whatever we can to preserve American democracy. We both have been to Normandy. We visited the cemetery that honors young Americans who hit the beach knowing their chances of survival were slim. History is asking comparably little of us today to preserve freedom. Surely we will respond to the call.”
Dick Gephardt and Tom Ridge
“The attorneys and students of the Election Law Clinic loved working with Keep Our Republic to engage in scenario planning and resource preparation around specific issues that could arise in a contested election. In particular, I was impressed with the level of supervision and feedback that our students received directly from the KOR team. Our team appreciated how collaborative and collegial it was to work with the group that KOR managed, especially at a time of high stress. We would be thrilled to keep working with KOR in the future.”
Ruth Greenwood
Director

“I appreciate all the work Keep Our Republic has done in helping to make sure clerks responded to the many inquiries we’ve received in an intelligent, straightforward, consistent manner which was so key in helping to ease the tension and skepticism from our electors.”
Toya Harell
Vice President
Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association’s Board of Directors
“I have been honored to assist Keep Our Republic on public events that help everyday Pennsylvanians understand election administration. As Chief Judge of the US Middle District of Pennsylvania in 2020, I witnessed how pervasive election related misinformation can be. Everyday citizens involved with civic education non-profits play an integral role in pushing back against toxic narratives.”
Hon. John E. Jones III (ret)., President of Dickinson College
“In today’s divisive and polarized political atmosphere, bipartisan voices of reason like Keep Our Republic are essential to strengthening faith in our democratic process. I was proud to work with KOR in Pennsylvania to educate voters and the media on how our elections work and the protections in place to ensure they are fair, accurate, and secure.”
Frederick Thieman
Former United States Attorney
Western District of Pennsylvania
