Community Conversations

Keep Our Republic is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization. Since the spring of 2020, we’ve been doing our part to help keep our republic. We achieve this through hyper-localized civic education with election officials and judges from across the country talking to community members. We know a lot of Americans have a lot of questions right now about how our democracy really works. Questions like, what actually happens behind the scenes on election night, and just what is the power of the federal courts? Together we can answer some of those questions, address real concerns, and clarify misinformation.

Where We’ve Been

Our conversations take place in communities to address growing pressure and disinformation threatening public trust.

In Michigan, from Escanaba to Alpena, KOR partnered with local leaders, clerks, and universities to examine the legal framework of election certification and the roles of state and local officials, with events spanning from southern communities to the Upper Peninsula.
In Wisconsin, KOR engaged voters statewide, from La Crosse to Green Bay, through public forums featuring municipal, county, and state officials. Partnering with clerks associations, we also led trainings and interactive events like “Ask a Clerk Anything” to strengthen trust in nonpartisan election administration.
In Pennsylvania, KOR hosted panels in over a dozen counties focused on countering election denialism and misinformation from Bethlehem to Latrobe. Featured in every media market in the state, these events emphasized the critical roles of communities, courts, and local leaders, and were supported by legal education programs and university partnerships.

Each conversation offers a space for clarity, not partisanship, around how elections actually work. By meeting communities where they are, Keep Our Republic helps bridge the gap between complex election law and trust in local processes and safeguards in systems.
