August 28, 2024 | Record Eagle

TRAVERSE CITY — Speakers representing two non-partisan organizations, Keep Our Republic and Michiganders for Civic Resilience, came to Northwestern Michigan College Tuesday to talk about elections.Traverse City was their first stop on a series of visits to Alpena, Cheboygan, Escanaba and Marquette.

Their point is to explain how the voting process works in Michigan. Their concern is that some citizens lack faith in the system. Their hope is to reach those with doubts to provide information and answers to any questions they have.

They call it their “Northern Michigan Community Conversation Tour.” …

“Keep Our Republic and Michiganders for Civic Resilience have joined together to lead community discussions about election integrity and transparency. Both organizations are equally represented by Democrats and Republicans to foster an environment of trust and accountability, which is crucial in today’s polarized election climate. As we kick off our Northern Michigan Community Conversation Tour in Traverse City, we hope citizens will find renewed energy and restored faith about the election process.”
