Brian Hildebrand is a web developer, professor and musician. He holds a Masters in Science in Computer Science and is finishing his PhD in Cybersecurity. For his Master’s Thesis, Brian designed and built an Artificial Intelligence (AI) capable of composing unique melodies using the genetic algorithm symbiotic evolution. The system uses a corpus of traditional Irish melody midi files as a training model.

For his PhD dissertation, Brian designed and built an electronic voting (e-voting) system that securely stores votes in Hyperledger Blockchain. Using blockchain-based e-voting supports a more free and fair election by providing greater accountability, transparency, inclusivity and accessibility.

One of Brian’s passions is teaching. He has taught college-level courses at Eastern Michigan University and Spring Arbor University such as Web Development, Cloud Computing and Cryptanalysis. Besides computers, Brian enjoys playing mandolin and other various instruments for traditional Irish music sessions, contradance, conferences, retreats, and church-related events.
