Hugh Moren

Hugh Moren is the Election Administrator for the City of Newport, Rhode Island. He joined Newport in 2023, three days before a special primary election to Congress. Prior to that, he worked for the Providence Board of Canvassers for five years as a clerk. In that time, he worked on registration, voter list maintenance, poll worker training, early voting and mail ballots, and election day operations. He was an essential worker all through the 2020 COVID-19 elections. He got his start in elections as a poll worker in Rhode Island as a 17-year-old high school student.
