Michael Brady teaches election law at Wayne State University Law School and is also a practicing attorney in that field. He previously served as chief legal director to the Michigan Secretary of State and the Michigan Department of State from 2019-2025, where he oversaw the Legal Services Administration and provided counsel and assistance to the Secretary, the Bureau of Elections, and the department’s programs. Prior to the Michigan Department of State, he was general counsel to the Detroit Land Bank Authority and, before that, vice president of policy to the Center for Community Progress. Michael is a proud resident of Detroit, where he is raising his family to share his enthusiasm for Detroit City FC.
